I like to watch
I watched some guys in chartreuse shirts dig a hole and fill it up with a machine,
both the digging and the filling.
One of the guys spit into the hole.
I watched a guy with perfect fucking hair mow grass.
I watched a woman from the law office across the street sneak outside for a break.
I watched the dipsomaniacs come and go.
I heard a gigantic dog downstairs barking at a guy trimming grass to the perfect tune that a trimmer line makes when it hits an aluminum pole.
And I sat here on my ass smoking.
And thanking the Lord Jesus that I have work to do.
And miles to go before I sleep.
